At the turn of the century, Captain Tupper a well known local pilot and tug boat captain built this house. It is just one of the many beautiful homes that make up this historic block in the Victorian District of Old Town Brunswick. Locally in Brunswick, the house is often referred to as the Greer House, a tribute to Dr. C.B Greer, a well known Physician and Surgeon who lived at 1127 Union Street from 1927 - 1972. A neighborhood elementary school bears his name in honor of his loving spirit.

The house design is from the plan books by George F. Barber. This design is called "The Queen." and reigns proudly on the corner of Union and Howe Streets. It is a Romantic, Flamboyant fine example of everything Queen Anne. Because it has a balanced, harmonious blend of three or more contrasting colors, it is a true "Painted Lady."
Upon walking up the generous veranda, you will notice a stunning gazebo dripping with jasmine vines. Enter the lovely vestibule that leads to a spacious and handsome receiving hall. The double parlors have fireplaces with finely detailed mantles, eleven foot ceilings and working pocket doors. The floors throughout the house are impeccable and made out of extinct old growth wood. Windows are ceiling-to-floor and the entire house is filled with light! The dining-room is of beautiful proportions and will easily accommodate family and friends. The fireplace and mill work will take your breath away. Desirable and updated, this Elegant Single-Family Home is located in a nationally designated Historic District. It has 4 beds, 2 ½ baths, and approximately 4,200 square feet. The property has a lot size of 8,276 sq ft and was built in 1901. Air Condition/heating unit 1st floor is 4 years old and the 2nd floor unit has just been replaced. Every room has been updated. Quartz counter tops, fresh paint and stainless appliances and a 2 car garage complete this splendid home.
